Friends of Robinson Ballet
Welcome to the Friends of Robinson Ballet page! “Friends” was formed in 2002 and helps with fundraising and volunteering for the Robinson Ballet Company. Funds raised support the Ralph Robinson Scholarship Fund, which provides graduating senior dancers scholarship monies. Please read on to learn how you can get involved!
Volunteer Sign-Up
The 2025 Nutcracker season is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited! As you know, this magical production takes a village to bring to life, and that includes help from our wonderful families and friends.
We’re reaching out to ask for your support by signing up to help with some important behind-the-scenes jobs. We need volunteers to:
Sell crafts and food before the show, during intermission, and after the performance for each show
Assist with coat check before and after shows at the performances at the Collins Center for the Arts in Orono
Help strike the show (pack up and clean up) once the final curtain falls for each show
These volunteer roles are essential for keeping things running smoothly and also make a significant financial impact. Friends of Robinson Ballet raises a substantial portion of our annual funds through these efforts. Your time and energy directly help support costumes, sets, scholarships, and future productions.

Nutcracker Cast T-Shirt Contest
We’re thrilled to announce our 1st annual Nutcracker T-Shirt Design Competition! This year you have the chance to design the official Robinson Ballet Company 2025 Nutcracker Cast T-Shirt!
Design Requirements:
Design must fit on 1 side of the shirt
Design must be in 1 color only - you choose the color of the ink and the color of the t-shirt itself
Incorporate all cast members’ names creatively within the design
Must be your original artwork
Submission Details:
Deadline: Noon on Saturday November 1st
Submit to: stevie@robinsonballet.org
File format: PDF, PNG, or JPG
The Winner:
The winning design will be featured on this year’s official cast t-shirts, and the designer will receive recognition on all our social media platforms!
Additional Events and Volunteer Opportunities
Bracelet making: November 8th and 15th, 1:30-4:30 pm in the upstairs studio. Cast members and family are invited to drop-in any time before or after rehearsals, between 1:30-4:30 pm, for bracelet making. Bracelets will be sold as a fundraiser at upcoming shows.
Donate packaged food and bottled water: Friends of Robinson Ballet will be selling food and bottled water at the Farmington show on December 6th and the Machias shows on December 13th. Donations welcome!
Sewing/Crafting: Help is always needed with costuming, light sewing, crafts, and general volunteer work around the studio. If you have time to donate and are interested, please contact stevie@robinsonballet.org to learn more.
